While riding

You can't hear each other.

  • “Sorry, what?” is the most-used phrase on horseback.
  • In the arena, instructions from the far side arrive in fragments.
  • On a ride, the group strings out and the front can't talk to the back.
  • Wind, hooves and distance swallow half of every sentence, wherever you ride.
After the lesson

The lesson ends and the tips are gone.

Clear communication

A clear voice in your ear, wherever you ride.

Put in your earbuds and start a session. Your instructor talks to you like a phone call: both ways, at normal volume, from anywhere in the arena or on the trail. Any Bluetooth headset works. Wind and background noise are filtered out, so nothing gets lost. Out on a ride, the whole group stays in one conversation, even when it stretches out over the trail.

Lesson story

You started with ten minutes of walk on a long rein to loosen up. In rising trot Sophie asked for your heels down twice, and once they stayed there the rhythm settled. You then rode 20-metre circles at A and C; the left rein was even, the right one still drifted out. The last part was canter transitions on the right rein — three attempts, the third one clean. You finished with a stretchy walk.

Before you ask

Good to know.

Do I need special equipment?
No. Your phone and any Bluetooth earbuds or headset are all you need.
Does it work in a big outdoor arena?
Yes. As long as your phone has Wi-Fi or mobile signal, distance doesn't matter.
Who can read my lesson stories?
Only you and the people who were in the session. You can delete a session at any time.
Which languages does SaddleTalk understand?
Many. Your lesson is written up correctly whether you speak English, Dutch, German, French or something else.
