This page explains, in plain words, what SaddleTalk collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is a short version only: the formal privacy policy is the document that applies.
What we collect
Your account: your email address, password and the basic profile information needed to sign you in and manage your account.
Your audio during a session: SaddleTalk processes your live audio stream while a session is active, so you can hear each other.
Lesson Stories and action points: your session audio is processed to write the lesson story and action points in the app. The raw transcription is only used internally for this and is not accessible to users.
Device details: your operating system (iOS or Android) and device identifiers, so the app works correctly on your hardware.
Microphone and camera: the app needs access to your microphone to work. The camera is used only to scan a QR code to join a session. No video is recorded or stored.
Why we collect it
To provide live audio communication, the core of SaddleTalk.
To generate and store the lesson stories and action points of your riding sessions, so you can review them.
To manage your account, sign you in and provide support, such as resetting your password.
Who else handles your data
Supabase stores our data, including your login and account details, and handles authentication.
GetStream powers the live audio calls and the audio processing.
These providers only access your data to do work for us and are not allowed to use or share it for any other purpose.
How long we keep it
We keep your personal information for as long as we have an ongoing, legitimate business need for it, for example to provide a service you asked for.
You can delete your account in the app through the account settings, or email us at support@saddletalk.app to ask for your data to be removed.
When your account is deleted, your user information is permanently removed from our authentication systems (Supabase) and our communication provider (GetStream), and your participation in stored conversations is deleted or anonymised according to our retention schedules.
How we protect it
We use industry-standard administrative, technical and physical security measures, such as encrypted data transfers and secure authentication tokens.
No security measure is perfect, so we cannot guarantee that data can never be intercepted or misused.
Changes and contact
We may update the privacy policy from time to time. Changes are posted on the formal privacy policy page with a new effective date, so check it periodically.
